Position Description:
Position Details
Part time at first, with the opportunity to work full time once your case load is full. Expect a maximum of 30-40 work hours per week within 3-6 months
Competitive hourly pay based on client facing hours + paid admin time (emails, networking, finishing charts, etc)
Flexible hours; must be willing to work until 5 or 6 pm at least 2 days per week
Confident networking and engaging professionally within our community of referral partners and organizations
See clients in person from a shared office in inner NE Portland 1-2 days per week, must have a private, quiet and HIPAA compliant space to work from home
Work collaboratively with business owner and have weekly meetings

Job Responsibilities
Provide highly individualized nutrition counseling
Assess, diagnose, create interventions, monitor and evaluate the needs of your clients
Create recipe collections and meal plans, considering the clients unique preferences, relationship to food, access to food and cooking, and any food allergies
Determine frequency of visits with clients and be able to document progress and make clinical decisions and adjust as needed
Provide easy to digest and relatable nutrition education in a way that is evidence based and also meets the client where they are
Work collaboratively with clinic owner and any future employees, including but not limited to case consults, weekly or monthly meetings, etc
Maintain timely and meticulous records, finishing chart notes by the end of the work day or the following morning
Use practice management software (Kalix), Google Drive, and other platforms
Engage in professional networking and represent our practice within the community
Stay up to date with nutrition science and best practices
Be open to feedback and guidance from clinic owner when appropriate
Must be confident with using the Nutrition Care Process and Medical Nutrition Therapy
Access and use evidence based research materials
Create insightful, evidence based and easy to use educational handouts, recipe collections and meal ideas

Please note, this is a W2 position
Minimum Qualifications:
Must live in the Portland or Vancouver Metro Area and be willing to commute to an office at least 2 days per week
Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition Science or other similar degree
Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) from the Commission for Registered Dietitians and in good standing or Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS) from the American Nutrition Association and in good standing
Licensed in Oregon State
Licensed in Washington state or willing to become licensed
General knowledge of Motivational interviewing principles
Weight inclusive, HAES aligned, and gender-affirming provider
Able to work with adult clients over the age of 18
Not necessary to work with eating disorders, but be able to screen for them
Provide highly individualized nutrition support to folks who are not well resourced and don’t have predictable access to food
Able to work with complex health conditions and co-morbidities (i.e, a client with an IBD and diabetes, or a client with IBS and thyroid cancer)
Conditions we help our clients with include but are not limited to: Autoimmune disorders, MCAS, EDS, type 1 and type 2 diabetes, hyperlipidemia, IBS, IBD, gut dysbiosis, inflammation, PCOS, perimenopause, menopause, eating disorders, disordered eating, anxiety, and ADHD
Desired Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Nutrition Science, Community Public Health, or other similar degree
Certified Dietitian in Washington State
Willing to do educational grocery store tours and in home cooking lessons
Able to work with pediatric and teenage clients
Able to review lab work and make supplement recommendations with confidence
