Ultra Processed Foods, the Gut Microbiome, and the Role they Play in IBD

Speaker: Briza York RDN, LD

Briza York is a clinical dietitian specialist with 14 years of experience in Pediatric Nutrition. She has worked at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital at OHSU for 11 of those 14years working specifically with the Pediatric Gastroenterology and Pediatric Allergy populations. She sees patients with a wide range of GI conditions, including Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Celiac Disease, Eosinophilic Esophagitis, and various food allergies/intolerances/sensitivities. She participated in the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Los Angeles IBD diet training program in 2023-2024 and the Food Allergy Research and Education Pediatric Food Allergy training course in 2020-2021. Outside of work, but still in nutrition, she is an exam item writer for both the Certified Specialist in Pediatric Nutrition and Certified Specialist in Digestive Health exams through CDR. Truly outside of work, she enjoys farmers markets, antiquing, and traveling.
