Policy:
1. Senate Bill 74 Medical Foods Law renewal: Metabolic foods as treatment
for preventable diseases. Ensures access to treatment.

2. Food Stamp outreach is going on so that more people can access them.

3. Reauthorization of Child Nutrition Act.

4. Pediatric Nutrition Strategic Plan 2002-2003-encouraging RDs to
specialize in pediatrics.

Old Business
1. Tiare Sanna reported that the family we sponsored for the holidays
greatly appreciated the groups gifts. It helped them a great deal.

2. Try to invite our adopted intern Diane Cook to facility, or send e-mail,
etc.

3. By-laws update: In the process, will be done by June

4. Healthy Active Oregon- 2 plans (healthy diet/increase activity). focus is
on key outcomes via policy/environmental change.

5. CDC is awarding nutrition/physical activity grants. Oregon has applied
for this grant.

6. WIC in multnomah county has had to decrease hours d/t budget shortfalls.

7. CDC will be doing a talk about how to talk to families about obesity at
the Health Division in May.
