Opportunities
1. Iowa St. University Teleconference: Food as a Public Health Instrument
reminder. Date is 4/25/02 at PSU 8am-2pm
2. Oregon Diabetes
Coalition: Patient education and self management tools;
Date 5/14/02 at the Multnomah Athletic Club, 12pm -4pm.
3. CaCoon Conference:
5/2-5/3/02 at Embassy Suites in Tigard. Topic is
Feeding Children with Special Health Care needs. The practice group will
have a booth. There is one free registration available to someone willing
to
help man our booth. Contact: Diane Smith at CDRC. We will be selling the
Ellyn Satter books, promote our formula brochure, and a CD Rom self-study
on
Children w/ Special Health Care needs for $25.
New Business
1. Diane Smith is putting together a resource list of dietitians that
work
with special needs kids. Let Diane know if you would like to be on that
list. She will provide the list to members. Must have Excel to retrieve it.
2. State public health
nutritionists are developing a statewide nutrition
plan for healthy Oregonians. Focus will be activity and healthy wt. They are
looking for experts to review the practice guidelines. Please let Diane
Smith know if you would like to help.
3. Anne Geotze presented
new education materials available from the Oregon
Dairy Council.
4. Powdered formula
update: Powdered formula is not sterile. However, local
NICUs have not changed there formula usage. Are keeping hang times in line
with FDA recommendations.

Old Business
1. By-law review: Due to change in ADA/ODA fiscal year, we will also
be
changing to match the fiscal year starting June 1st.
2. Since by-laws had
not been reviewed for a while, it was decided that they
needed updating.
Key changes in
by-laws:
1. Annual meeting will be help in April to get ready for start of fiscal
year on June 1. This is when the slate of officers will be presented.
2. Membership will vote on officers in April/May

4. Therese Scollard will be helping us develop our by-laws
5. ODA will have us check in with them more often
6. Dues Will be determined by the Executive Board. They will be no less that
$10, and no more than $30. Currently at $12. Dues will be payable in June.

Executive Board
Changes:
In section
7.1.3 of the revised by-laws the Chair will assemble and keep current the
new member packets.
7.1.4 Prepare plan of work and financial reports for the ODA Board
7.1.1 Will be reimbursed for ADA-PNPG dues
7.2.2 Chair-Elect
will be liaison between ODA and PNPG filing above
mentioned reports with ODA
7.2.3 Chair-Elect will review by-laws annually
7.2.4 Chair-elect
will be responsible for communication website updates to
contractor.
7.3.3 Secretary will
be responsible for facilitation CE credits or Portfolio
Certificates (signed copy of meeting agenda).
7.3.4 Secretary will
prepare and present the OR-PNPG plan of work at the
annual business meeting.
7.4.1 Treasurer will
maintain membership roster, and mail out New Member
welcome packets.
