The Fall 2009 HOD Meeting motion regarding Health Reform requested that the Legislative and Public Policy committee (LPPC) address the following items (areas):
Develop a plan, budget and evaluation tool for effective legislative training programs as an urgent need of the membership.
Establish LPPC as an influential leader in all future public policy activities that will assure the inclusion of the RD in legislation and regulations.
Encourage collaboration between affiliate dietetic associations and DPG’s for building partnerships within and outside of the Association to effectively position health reform and all critical legislative and policy issues related to the role of the RD.

Look What’s New in Your Inbox - EatRight Weekly!
ADA is pleased to introduce a weekly streamlined communication that will be sent to members. EatRight Weekly will contain information that is currently being e-mailed in publications such as On the Pulse, New in Review, ADA Foundation Matters, Learn. Grow. Advance and ADA News Bytes, all of which are being discontinued. EatRight Weekly will be distributed each Wednesday afternoon (or Thursday during a week containing a Monday holiday). Also, in an effort to streamline communications, the House will not receive messages that duplicate information in EatRight Weekly so be sure to check it out each week.
ADA Bylaws Changes
If you are a returning delegate, you will recall that we discussed a potential change to the ADA Bylaws concerning the reduction in number of members on ADA’s Nominating Committee from 14 to 10. Since comments from delegates and members regarding this change were overwhelmingly positive it was determine that the change qualified as a minor change and thus did not require a vote (see HOD Manual, G.2). The updated ADA Bylaws are posted on the Web site (www.eatright.org/bylaws). Please let your constituents know of the update.
