NEW! Expanding Access to Diabetes Self- Management Training Act, H.R. 5768 (2018)
Recently introduced in May 2018, This bill would expand access and remove barriers that patients face to diabetes self-management training in Medicare, improving utilization of this important benefit.
**Oregon’s own Earl Blumenauer is a member of the current sub-committee to which HR 5768 was recently referred.**

Preventing Diabetes in Medicare Act, H.R. 3124/S. 1299 (2017-2018 Update)
First introduced in 2007, this bill has a proposed extension that is current as of June 2017. This bill would extend medicare coverage for medical nutrition therapy from RDs/RDNs for people with diabetes, diabetes + renal disease, and pre-diabetes.
